Sony Ericsson's Focus on Android Next Year

JAKARTA: Sony Ericsson said it will focus on Android operating system in use in 2011, following the sale of phones with the operating system continues to increase and get a good response from customers.

Product Group Marketing Manager of PT Sony Ericsson Indonesia Hanny Sanjaya said British manufacturers are still using the OS (operating system / OS) such as Symbian, Google Android, Sony Ercisson and Walkman.

However, the use Android OS, he said, continued to increase with the response from the community is good enough to phones that use the operating system.

"In 2011, we [Sony Ericsson] will focus on Android, to be more forward again," he told Business Today.

Hannah explains Ericsson will continue to update (upgrade) some phones by adding new features bekrja same parent company, Sony. "Incentive once [upgrade] work together with Sony, the collaboration will be reproduced with Sony."

He can not disclose the percentage of the operating system's use in Sony Ericsson mobile phones. However, he is optimistic that Google's Android based phone will continue to rise, given the public response of the system are very enthusiastic.

According to him, customer enthusiasm for Android can be seen from the sales of four types of mobile phone manufacturers that already use the operating system from Google.

Of the total issued cell phone for this year consists of four types that use the Android operating system, two types using the Symbian operating system, four types of OS Sony Ericsson and Walkman as many as three types.


Until now, Sonny Ericsson has released four types that the Android-based phone Xperia X10, Mini and Xperia Xperia Xperia X8 Minipro and who have not started to enter the market. Xperia X8 planned entry into the market starting next month
